About this paint

In the 1985 Bathurst 1000, Peter Brock was a leading contender until a mechanical failure in his Commodore just a few laps from the finish. The race is known for its exciting finish, with the Jaguar driven by John Goss taking the win against the Ford and Holden teams. Brock was in contention for a podium finish for much of the race.

Despite an early incident that forced him to pit, Brock was seen making up significant time in the latter stages of the race. He battled through the field and moved into second place before the mechanical issues arose. A broken rear window chain in Brock's #05 Mobil HDT Commodore forced him to retire with only a few laps left, costing him a potential podium finish. This mechanical failure ultimately allowed the BMW of Roberto Ravaglia and Johnny Cecotto to pass him and take second place.

Brock's car was also subjected to a black flag due to a damaged windscreen and rear window, which also led to the need for a mandatory pit stop to remove the rear window as per the regulations.

Brock's team finished fifth after the mechanical failure.
