#87 NASCAR XFINITY Chevrolet Camaro by Paul NewtonPaul Newton Pro

About this Custom Number paint

Joe Nemechek entered the Busch Grand National series full time in 1990, wheeling his own number 87 Buicks to two top fives. For 1991, the small team switched to Chevrolets and fortunes improved as Nemechek netted five top fives. With more secure finances thanks to Texas Pete Hot Sauce, 1992 became a breakout season for the Florida driver. Nemechek’s first win came in August at IRP, though it was his second win, outduelling Dale Earnhardt to the line for the trophy at Loudon, that really put him on the map. The small team entered the season finale at Hickory with a narrow point lead, and a confrontation with Jimmy Spencer nearly put an end to the effort. In the end, Nemechek triumphed over Bobby Labonte by just 3 points for the 1992 Busch Grand National Championship. This paint reflects the car as it appeared at Daytona in February. This car always ran with yellow wheels; use semigloss wheels with paint code #C4A000. The Grand National Legends project is a series of paints dedicated to the most significant Busch Series drivers and cars of the 1990s. Part 2 of the series covers the years 1990 through 1994.
