GBR and Stratton join forces with AMR for two-car British GT4 assault

A new team that combines the best of two existing entities, GBR Stratton Motorsport, has become the first to publicly confirm its 2026 British GT Championship entries.

Two of the squad’s Aston Martins will contest the GT4 class next season, marking the manufacturer’s full-time return to the class after a year away.

The new venture sees two existing and accomplished domestic outfits joining forces. GBR, short for Graham Brunton Racing, has a wealth of junior single-seater experience thanks to its GB4 exploits, while Stratton – which also sells and services Aston Martin road cars – has previously raced them and Lotuses in British GT.

Drivers are yet to be confirmed for either of the two Vantages, which are competing with the full support of AMR.

“This is a defining step for both teams,” said team principal and Stratton’s founder, Roger Bennington. “Combining our strengths under the GBR Stratton Motorsport identity – and doing so as an official Aston Martin Racing partner – positions us for another exciting chapter in our history. We cannot wait to showcase what our combined capability can deliver.”

Craig Brunton, who will serve as team manager, added: “Our team is buzzing with excitement as we leave the intense world of single-seater racing behind to embark on a thrilling new chapter in the GT4 category. The next step for us feels incredibly special as we forge a promising new partnership with Stratton Motorsport. It is a dream come true to be competing with a prestigious and high-performance brand in AMR and the entire team is motivated to make an immediate impact on the track. We cannot wait to get started!”

MKH flew the GT4 flag for Aston Martin last year, albeit on a round by round basis. The manufacturer is one of British GT4’s most successful and last won a championship in 2024 when Forsetti Motorsport clinched the teams’ crown.

Season 34 begins with media day at Silverstone on March 31 before the same venue hosts the season opener on April 25/26.

Retired from a career in IT, and now have time on my hands to try stuff like painting race cars. I have done a number of commissions for others, so if you want a paint made either from scratch or a favourite real life car, message me via this platform. I reproduce car liveries from real life cars for the entertainment of the many many fans of those teams and drivers, and am happy to take a look at any suggestions for liveries for anyone looking to emulate their hero.
