About this paint

"Laud & Lauda” is a two-piece livery set that celebrates and pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s first World Championship title.

“Laud” is an adaptation of Scuderia Ferrari’s own celebratory colours for the SF-25 at their home race in Monza, reimagined on the Ferrari 296 GT3.

“Lauda” was first inspired by the Ferrari SF-25’s Monza livery, but draws a closer parallel to the 312 T in which Niki Lauda won the 1975 World Driver’s Championship.

While working on “Laud”, I was reminded of how modern race cars are so plastered with sponsor logos that, as a design, they can sometimes end up being the visual equivalent of loud noise.

So even as I was first inspired by the SF-25, for my own tribute, I wanted to more closely reference the original 312 T, which has a cleaner and simpler graphic design in comparison.

“Lauda” is the expression of the belief that less can be more, and that a cleaner, simpler design is a louder and clearer expression of beauty.
