December already? Here’s what’s new on Trading Paints for iRacing’s 2022 Season 1 build, released today.

It’s Paint of the Year time!

It’s time for the 2021 Paint of the Year voting to begin! Throughout the month of December, we’re stacking up the 48 winners of our Paint of the Week selections, and Trading Paints members will vote for their favorites over the course of a six-round bracket.

Voting for Round 1 opens today, featuring the 17th through 48th seeds; the top 16 paints, based on total number of favorites, receive a bye into Round 2, which begins December 12. We’ll crown the Paint of the Year on December 31. When you’re logged in to your Trading Paints account, you’ll get to place your votes on each matchup on the Paint of the Year page.

NASCAR Next Gen cars

iRacing has updated the NASCAR Next Gen cars to reflect NASCAR’s car-number position change for the 2022 season. If you have a Sim-Stamped Number paint, check your custom paints to ensure your designs still work with the numbers moved forward toward the front of the car.

If you’re using a Custom Number paint for the NASCAR Next Gen cars, you shouldn’t notice any differences.

Dallara IR18

Since iRacing has added AI support to this vehicle, you can now create AI-ready Collections featuring IndyCar’s Dallara IR18.

Honda Civic Type R

We’ve added support for iRacing’s new Honda Civic Type R.

Hyundai Elantra N TC

We’ve added support for iRacing’s new Hyundai Elantra N TC.

Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance

While we’re quite excited to turn laps in a current-day Formula 1 car on our favorite sim, iRacing will not offer an official painting template for this vehicle. Per their agreement with the manufacturer, custom paints are not supported, and you won’t be able to upload paints to Trading Paints for this car.
