Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I didn't receive a confirmation email. Help!
A: We don't send confirmation emails at this time. Trading Paints sends confirmation messages through the official iRacing Member Forums via Private Messages. This is to verify that you are an active iRacing subscriber, and you are who you say you are. This way, we can link paint files with specific drivers and no one else can claim to be you.
Q: I didn't receive a confirmation message in the iRacing forum. Help!
A: Please email us and we will help get your account working manually.
Q: I forgot my password. How do I recover it?
A: Visit our Forgot Password page to reset your password. This will send an email with instructions to reset your password. If you do not receive an email, please email us with your iRacing Customer ID and correct email address.
Q: Can I use my Trading Paints account on other sites?
A: You can use your TradingPaints.com account on our setup sharing site, RaceSetups.com.
Q: I found a paint scheme I like on Trading Paints. How can I download it?
A: You cannot download other drivers' paint schemes for your own use. Paint schemes listed in the Trading Paints gallery are only intended for other drivers to show off what they've painted or what they're driving. If you are interested in using another driver's paint scheme, contact them through iRacing.
Q: Where did Lists go?
A: Using the new Trading Paints software, opponents' paint schemes are automatically loaded when you race. This makes it unnecessary to browse the Trading Paints website and save specific paint schemes to a List. Current Lists will remain intact, but please be advised that Lists will eventually be phased out.
Q: Where did the old downloader software go?
A: The old downloader software has been replaced by the new Trading Paints program, launched in January 2013. The new program loads only the paint schemes needed when in an iRacing race. The previous program was not efficient as it required users to download and store many, many paint files that accumulated an excessive amount of storage space and was a strain on Trading Paints servers.
